'Holding Cell' Devlog: Show Item to NPCs (1/?)
Project Smile Development Log:
I decided to implement the 'Show' button in the inventory, which allows the player to show NPCs an item that you have in your inventory.
I made it so that each item is numbered, and when you are close to someone, then the 'Show' Button becomes available; it won't appear when you are nowhere near any NPC.
By pressing 'Show' on a certain item, it will result in a unique dialogue where the NPC react to your item. This can be useful as it allows them to express their thoughts on the item, or if it's something they want, they may ask you to give it to them.
I was more focused on the former. I also made it so that dialogue changes after showing the item again.
So far, I only implemented the History book to Lilith; next would be the History Book to Willford, who will be someone who wants that particular book (as well as other tweaks to improve the 'Show' function.
