'Holding Cell' Devlog: Timetriggers (NPC animation)
Okay, I have now added in what I call 'Time triggers.'
When a certain amount of time passes, a trigger will occur, which calls on something to happen, from an event happening or animation being played out or when you reach the time limit of that level.
It's kinda like a time loop where events trigger at a certain point in time, and the player would have a chance to know when it's going to happen so they can be ready to make whatever outcome they want for that event.
That's what I am planning to make after completing my next Game Jam in September, but for the time being, I made an animation trigger where an NPC does an animation, goes into the animation, then comes out of it to return to the idle state. I also made it in a way that if the player interacts with the character while their animation triggers, the duration of the animation stays the same and doesn't do the same trigger animation again.
As I mentioned before, I will be busy in September to do development on Project Smile. But when I resume in October, I will start doing 'Events triggers' and introducing another character into the Holding Cell, so stay tuned.
